A Small Car.

GM to Build Small Car in U.S.
Why does this headline merit being written? Really? A small car? You're going to build one? Actually in the United States? Teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, after all this time and all these gas price spikes and valleys, General Motors has now, just now, realized that having ONE small car might benefit the company?
"General Motors announced this morning that it will build a new, fuel-efficient small car in the United States in the next few years, bucking a longtime industry trend to manufacture such vehicles overseas."

Seriously. It will be good to have an efficient car built in the U.S. instead of overseas. But I'm not going to celebrate this happening now. I find it absolutely infuriating that it hasn't happened long before now. You get no props from RTM, GM, nor you, UAW, who could have helped this along years and years ago.

of course, the most important question: will anyone buy the car?

Indeed. And probably not. Does GM have to prove their efficiency bona fides before anyone will buy it?

or are we over efficiency for now?

Me. I will buy a small car this summer/fall and if it doesn't suck, why not make it a Chevy?
And as I have always said, I am representative of the American body.
