Regardless of all the things I disagree with that Bobby Jindal had to say after the President's speech, there is one thing that I have to question.
Does Governor Jindal really believe that we should not be monitoring volcanoes? Of all the examples of 'wasteful spending,' does he truly not see the simple, self-evident, need to monitor VOLCANOES?!
There have been times in history when a little volcano monitoring might have come in handy. But, you know, we can just let that go, since there are not any pending volcano eruptions in these parts.
*Update: Seems I'm not the only one who thought Jindal's 'volcanoes don't need monitoring' comment was ridiculous. "Does the governor have a volcano in his backyard?" Royce Pollard, the mayor of Vancouver, Washington, said on Wednesday. "We have one that's very active, and it still rumbles and spits and coughs very frequently."

Jindal stunk. Come on GOPers you can do much much better than that. Bleh...
Yes, I was a little confused by this anecdote, too. And normally Jindal seems a lot better... I don't understand why sometimes the GOP wants to try too hard.
