Even the picture makes me want to cry. That title might seem harsh, but seriously, what does the Hummer H2 add to market that the Hummer doesn't offer. For that matter, what does the Hummer itself add?
Well, that's not the point of this post. The point is, So Long Hummer H2.
From Eco-Geek:
"GM and Hummer have officially decided to discontinue the Hummer H2 after years of lagging sales and a good deal of negative publicity that the car has brought to GM.
While the car remains popular, the Hummer brand in general, and the H2 specifically, have been on a continual sales slide for the last five years or so. The vehicle, as the most inefficient SUV on the road, has become less appealing since gas prices have more than tripled in the last ten years."
I'm sure someone somewhere is upset about this, but to them I say, what?

I would say "what does the Hummer itself add to a commercial market?" Seeing as it has/had some use in military purposes. If anything it provided endless entertainment for the troops in the Desert.
Is it funny to anyone else that the great environmental state of California elected the guy that brought the Hummer to the public market?
yes.
and it is also funny that he appeared on pimp my ride with his hummer to make it a hybrid.
i'm sure the hummer served some purpose to the military. (being big and strong, plus we probably used them mostly in the mideast, where you can connect a hose to the ground and fill your gas tank, if i understand bush correctly). i was only addressing the commercial market.
I tried to post this already but I think I messed it up, so now I hope I don’t post twice. Anyway, here is basically what I already tried to say. The H2 has never been used in military operations. The military used a Humvee (made by AM General), which they then released a civilian version called the H1. The H2 was developed by GM, but there really is nothing unique about it as it is built around a Chevy Suburban chassis. So basically the H2 is a Chevy Suburban with the look of a toy Humvee and the gas mileage of a real Humvee.
Good riddance…but now what kind of vehicle can I give the middle finger to as I drive for no reason other than the vehicle itself?
a normal hummer?
Right, but if they are disappearing from the roads I'm going to need a new make and model to hate. I'm open to suggestions.
