NYTimes: "The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded today to Al Gore, the former vice president, and to the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for its work to alert the world to the threat of global warming."
Congratulations, Al. You've done a lot of good, despite the naysayers.
Mr. Gore “is probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted,” the Nobel citation said.
I like Gore, I'm glad he won. I tend to agree with the environmentalists who say, seriously, this is a big problem, maybe the biggest. That's about all I have to say on it.
Think he'll run for the President? It would shake things up. You know, rattle some cages. He now has an Oscar, an Emmy, a Nobel Prize and a legion of devoted followers (all suckers, I'm sure.)

This is from CNN, and pretty funny. (in that kind of bad way)
"A source involved in Gore's past political runs told CNN that he definitely has the ambition to use the peace prize as a springboard to run for president.
But he will not run, because he won't take on the political machine assembled by Sen. Hillary Clinton, said the source. If the senator from New York had faltered at all, Gore would take a serious look at entering the race, the source said. But Gore has calculated that Clinton is unstoppable, according to the source."
I think Gore should run for president of the plant. ;-)
I don't think he'd add anything to the race.
I think Obama will definitely take environmentalism seriously and I think Gore could help sway Clinton to do some good.
By the way, I saw Wesley Clark on Colbert the other night.
He's going to be Clinton's running mate. guaranteed.
i think gore could at least a little excitement to the race, which is sorely lacking.
but i also think gore could do some good out of the race if he came out and strongly endorsed obama. Gore has serious clout that could help Obama. Obama, unfortunately, has very little clout, he needs all he can get.
